1. When did you join the team and how did you find out about the role?

I joined Town Close the second week of January 2026. I found out about the role from a fabulous recruiter, Guy Maxwell, who I'd highly recommend!

2. Can you describe your role and the primary responsibilities you handle?

Joining a new company is like driving a new car for the first time - although you've driven before, you take time to adjust to its steering, the action in the gear stick, the weight of the pedals. So far, I am learning the ropes of the company, shadowing my colleagues and seeing all the impressive work that is essential behind the scenes to ensure our clients are happy! I'm excited to be taking on my own clients soon, once I have 'settled into my new car' and can drive them safely to their life goals!

3. What’s a typical day like for you?

At the moment, it's mostly meetings with my colleagues and oodles of note-writing! Other features include a quick walk in the morning to get the blood pumping, exercise before lunch and, most importantly, a good TV show (at the moment it's Shetland) with supper to close the day. Copious amounts of tea should be drunk throughout!

4. What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

Helping people! Seeing the black cloud of worry and confusion lift off their shoulders and disappear during a meeting. I also love getting to know my clients over the long term, hearing their unique stories and earning their trust, knowing I can be there for them at each important stage of their lives.

5. What do you appreciate most about working with your current team?

They really care - about their clients and about each other. They want the best for everyone and they work tirelessly to bring the best outcomes to those involved. I'm very lucky to have found them!

6. If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

To fly - I could get some pretty amazing sight-seeing in and wouldn't have any problems in a tube strike!

7. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

What goes down, must come up again - which can be said about life and about finances!

8. If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Hands down it would be chocolate ice cream (with a back-drop of sunshine!). This is basically my diet each summertime anyway so I feel like it's a tried and tested theory.

9. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Too many choices! Currently I have my eye on Japan in the autumn-leaves season...

10. If you were stranded on a deserted island, what three items would you want to have with you?

A record player, a dog and...a sail boat!
